What I Learned From Boot Camp

I learned that this is not going to be one of those English classes where you can get by just turning in ok stuff. I'm glad Rachel let us know right away that this class wouldn't be easy. I think that learning the importance of revision was the most important thing I will take from boot camp. I think it is good that we will spend a lot of time editing our work because I know that every time I revise my paper it gets a million times better than when I started. And I really do want to be a good writer so that is the goal!

  1. I completely agree! I like that she is pushing us and really wants us to put our best foot forward. Constant revision will definitely be extremely helpful for me as well. I'm not the biggest fan of editing my own work but I am glad that we get the chance to constantly improve our work as we learn more about writing and about our writing style. Hopefully we have some kick butt papers! :)

  2. Me too! Honestly, this class seems like it's going to be a challenge but I have absolutely no doubt that we will all become much more articulate and sophisticated writers after the semester, and I'm really excited for that. Last semester for gen ed you could seriously write a paper 4 hours before the deadline and an A or B on it... But this is a whole different ball game! I am a big fan of multiple drafts, so I completely agree with you and am so glad revision is a key concept in the class!
